Had a wonderful date with the boy a few weeks ago. We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation in order to grab a drink. The bar was PACKED but they seated us early so we just got drinks at our table instead.
Even if you weren’t hungry, it would still be worth a trip to Oya for the visual appeal alone. The inside is mostly white, but instead of feeling cold, they warm up the room with a long fireplace and a funky display of fall leaves. A waterfall seperates the dining room from the kitchen so you can kind of see the chefs at work A small army of good-looking staff was constantly moving around the place.
I have no complaints about any of the food. We both decided to try the $30 tasting menu since it was our first time there. We got to try yummy and creative sushi appetizers. My main course was not terribly exciting—but as good as a mushroom/ramen noodle dish could be.
Desserts were just what I wanted—flavorful and small. I am so sick of ginormous Cheesecake Factory-like desserts that are all sugar and no taste. Three small dots of espresso ice cream were just enough for me, and the boy thoroughly enjoyed his mini chocolate cake.
I will definitely be going back and maybe will order a full meal of sushi next time!
