What do you do when you've built a successful local music scene one Friday at a time over the last two years? The Modern Times Coffee house crowd decided to create a new funding model for recording their collective tunes by holding a benefit concert last December at Comet Ping Pong and are celebrating the release of that compilation CD by holding a free concert this Saturday night. All 17 artists featured on the recording will be performing. December's event was phantasmagoric and this Saturday evening promises more of the same. For more info check here: http://www.myspace.com/moderntimescoffeehouse.

Thanks!

Hi,
I've been doing an indie music oriented podcast from the basement of my house in redeneck-centric Manassas for 3 years now. I'm a local treasure, damn it!
You can also poke at my carcass at http://www.myspace.com/bunnylvr
Also, if you search "Clifton Bunny Man" on Wikipedia you will see a reference to me in the "popular cultural references" section.
please help spread the word and I promise to buy one of your damn t-shirts.
Thanks-
Mike Edwards

Hey,

Tomorrow night's Yeasayer/MGMT show at the back stage of the Black Cat in DC is sold out and there is an online movement starting to get them to move it to the Mainstage where there is more room so they can sell more tickets.

Brightest Young Things are already blogging about it and there is also a Facebook group started too:

I'm trying to email music bloggers and I thought you might be interested, it would also be awesome if you guys could help spread the word too.

Thanks for listening,

-Brian

Craft Mutiny's 2nd Annual Holiday Booty Market, a one day show and sale featuring 20 of the area's finest indie crafters will be held Saturday, December 15, 2007 from 12pm-6pm at Hilda's Giftshop located inside the lower level of the National City Christian Church at 5 Thomas Circle NW, Washington, DC. Don't miss this last chance to score some sweet hand made items from your favorite local indie crafters. There will be music provided by Jason Hutto of The Aquarium, snacks, and a craft table for the kids so you can focus on the awesomeness! Plus free goodie bags for the first 100 attendees!

If you're a fan of Crafty Bastards Arts & Crafts Fair, you will not want to miss the Craft Mutiny's Holiday Booty Market. Not only have Crafty Bastards organizers Kim Dorn and Sara Dick helped plan the Booty Market, most of the vendors are Crafty Bastards veterans as well. Expect to find local favorites like Woolarina, I Like Seamonsters, 60 Bugs, Kristina Bilonick, George Ryan, St. Bob and the Happy Little Trees, Daisy Lacy and many more.

When I typed in "Hank's" nothing came up. I found it through a browse.

You really should consider building up info on indie places in the DC suburbs like Montgomery County, Prince Georges County, Arlington County, and Fairfax. SOOOO many folks live out there.

Here's one for example:

Heyser Farms in Colesville, MD
301-384-7859
14526 New Hampshire Ave
Silver Spring, MD 20904

see:

This is an amazing little market. All fresh and not pricey at all. Good for folks who live in Montgomery County.
